Transmission occurs through direct contact or contaminated materials. Vaccination and strict biosecurity are essential for control.
Egg Drop Syndrome ’76 (EDS-76)
is a viral disease of laying hens caused by an adenovirus (Duck Adenovirus-1). It leads to a sudden drop in egg production, poor shell quality, and misshapen or shell-less eggs, without significant illness in the birds. Transmission occurs vertically and horizontally.
