VIRSAL DuET contains attenuated Salmonella enteritidis (MTR2) and Salmonella typhimurium (MTR40) strains. Developed by Biovac Ltd using metabolic drift mutations, these vaccine strains effectively invade and replicate within the mucosa/gut-associated lymphoid tissue (M/GALT), inducing protective cell-mediated and humoral immune responses. This immunological activation reduces clinical signs, bacterial carriage, and shedding of S. enteritidis and S. typhimurium.
