Infectious Bronchitis (IB) Freeze Dried Live Vaccine – 1494 strain (Variant II)

Infectious Bronchitis (IB) is a highly contagious viral disease of chickens caused by Avian infectious bronchitis virus (IBV), a coronavirus. It primarily affects the respiratory tract but can also impact the kidneys and reproductive system, leading to respiratory signs, decreased egg production, and poor egg quality. Control relies on vaccination and strict biosecurity.

Information

Composition	Each dose contains: Infectious Bronchitis live attenuated virus, Var II 1494 strain, at least 10 [sup]3.5[/sup]EID50.
Indications	For active immunisation of chickens in order to protect them from infection caused by Var II-like variants.
Indications for use	Use by instructions of a veterinarian. Use immediately after reconstitution with antiseptic or disinfectant free drinking water.
Administration and dosage	Spraying/Aerosol: • Prepare for each 1000 doses 100-300 ml of non chlorinated cold water. • Add the reconstituted vaccine to the adequate volume of spraying cold water, immediately prior to use, and mix well. • The ventilation system of the poultry house should be inoperative during the spray administration. • Direct the stream from the sprayer over the heads of the birds. • Droplets of average diameter 80-150μm are ideal as they facilitate even coverage of birds. Drinking water • Make sure that drinking water is free of any traces of disinfectants. • Deprive the birds of drinking water two hours before vaccination. • Prepare adequate volume of drinking water to be consumed within one to two hours. • Protect the dissolved vaccine from chlorine by adding Blue Neutrachlor® (following the instructions) or skim milk powder (50g/20L) or skim milk (0.5L/20L) to drinking water to be consumed within one to two hours. • Stir well after mixing and allow solution to stand for 20 min, before adding the vaccine. • Mix well the reconstituted vaccine in the final volume of disinfectant-free drinking water. • Let the birds consume all the vaccine-water volume before renewing water supply. Ocular route: The vaccine should be dissolved in physiological saline solution (usually 40 ml per 1,000 doses) and administered by means of a standardized dropper. Administer one drop of vaccine into the open eye of each bird.
Comments	• Vaccinate healthy birds only. • Do not use during the laying period. • Future layers and breeders should not be vaccinated before 3 weeks of age. • Use entire contents of the vial when first opened. • Destroy unused contents and decontaminate empty vials before discarding them. • Keep vaccination records including vaccine batch number.

Storage	Store at 2ºC-8ºC, protected from direct sunlight.
Presentation	Each box contains: 10 or 20 vials of 1,000, 2,500 or 5,000 doses.
